St. Patrick’s Day cards

Show your Irish pride in our patron saint

Many of us over the years have tried to purchase Saint Patrick’s Day cards that properly reflect our patron saint’s significant contribution to the establishment of Christianity in Éire and honor our proud Irish heritage. Many of the cards on the market today belittle Saint Patrick and insult and demean our Irish Catholic faith and traditions. To Irish people Saint Patrick’s Day represents much more than exchanging insulting cards, getting drunk, drinking green beer, etc. Reinforcing stereotypes promoted by the British Empire undermine Irish culture and national traditions.

Our John F. Kennedy AOH Division 5 is doing something about it. We were able to work out an arrangement with a publisher to sell Saint Patrick’s Day cards that reflect the true meaning of Saint Patrick and celebrate March as Irish Heritage Month. Attached is an information sheet and order form for the cards.

Each packet of 10 cards contains an assortment of five different designs. These cards can be sent with Irish pride to your children, grandchildren, relatives, and your friends.

Our division actively participates in Project Saint Patrick that supports seminarians. For several years we have been financially assisting an Archdiocesan seminarian and most of the proceeds will go for that purpose and for our other charities. So, when you purchase these cards you will be helping a seminarian just like the AOH in Ireland assisted seminarians and priests in carrying out their religious duties and escape marauding Cromwellian troops.

Enclosed is an information sheet about these Saint Patrick’s Day cards with an order form. The cards are $20.00 for each package of 10 cards. We will pay for the postage and handling. You can make your check payable to “AOH Division 5.”
